Copyright and licensing
Accepted articles in the Regional Studies Journal (RSJ) are published under an open access model, making them freely available for reading, downloading, and reuse in accordance with the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
1. Copyright
Authors retain the copyright and intellectual property rights to their published works, while granting RSJ the right to publish and make the articles electronically available as part of the journal’s issues, in accordance with the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license.
2. Creative Commons License
Articles published in RSJ are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), unless otherwise specified for particular third-party materials.
This license permits others to share, redistribute, adapt, and reuse the article, including for commercial purposes, provided that:
- Appropriate credit is given to the authors.
- The journal and the original publication source are properly acknowledged.
- Reference is made to the CC BY 4.0 license.
- Any modifications to the original material are clearly indicated.
- The reuse does not imply endorsement by the authors or the journal.
3. Authors’ Responsibility for Third-Party Rights
Authors are responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions to use any third-party materials, such as images, tables, figures, textual content, or other materials that are not covered by the journal’s license.
Authors must clearly identify any materials that are subject to rights or licenses different from those applying to the article.
4. Reuse of Articles
Published articles may be reused, shared, archived, distributed, or adapted in accordance with the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license, provided that appropriate credit is given to the authors and that the original publication source and license are clearly acknowledged.
5. Journal Rights
RSJ retains its rights relating to the publication, editorial processing, formatting, and electronic dissemination of its published content.
Publication of an article does not transfer ownership of the authors’ intellectual property rights to the journal. Such publication and reuse remain subject to the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license.
6. Policy Review
This policy is based on the principles of academic integrity, publication ethics, and internationally recognized standards of scholarly publishing, including relevant principles promoted by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
The journal may periodically review and update this policy to reflect developments and internationally recognized best practices in scholarly publishing
