Regional Studies Journal (RSJ) is a quarterly, peer-reviewed, open access academic journal published by the Regional Studies Center at the University of Mosul, Iraq. Established in 2004, the journal publishes original research and scholarly studies in the humanities and social sciences, with particular emphasis on Contemporary History, Political Science, Law, and Economics, especially in relation to regional and international issues.

1.    RSJ seeks to provide a scholarly platform for rigorous and original research examining political, historical, legal, economic, social, cultural, geographical, security, and strategic issues from regional and comparative perspectives. The journal gives particular attention to Iraq, the Middle East, neighboring regions, and their interactions with major regional and global powers.

2.    The journal welcomes interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research that contributes to the understanding of regional developments and their broader international implications. It encourages studies that employ analytical, comparative, historical, empirical, and theoretical approaches and that contribute to contemporary academic debates.

3.    Regional Studies Journal is published by the Regional Studies Center, University of Mosul, Nineveh Governorate, Iraq. The journal is issued quarterly, with four issues published each year.

4.    Arabic is the primary language of the journal. Manuscripts may also be submitted in English. Articles published in Arabic are accompanied by an accurate English abstract, while articles submitted in English are accompanied by an Arabic abstract.

5.    All manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment followed, where appropriate, by double-blind peer review in accordance with the journal's editorial and ethical standards.

6.    RSJ is an open access journal. Published articles are made freely available online under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, subject to the terms of that license.

7.    Authors affiliated with institutions outside Iraq are not charged Article Processing Charges (APCs). For authors affiliated with institutions within Iraq, an APC of IQD 125,000 is charged for each accepted manuscript. Submission and peer review are free of charge.

8.    The journal's content is digitally archived for long-term preservation through the Iraqi Academic Scientific Journals (IASJ) platform of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Iraq.

9.    All published articles are assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to facilitate persistent identification, citation, and online access.
