Corrections and Retractions Policy

Regional Studies Journal (RSJ) is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the published scholarly record and takes appropriate measures when errors or issues affecting the content or scientific integrity of published articles are identified.

1. Corrections

The journal may issue a correction when an error is identified in a published article that does not materially affect the results or conclusions but requires clarification or amendment to preserve the accuracy of the scholarly record.

Corrections may include, for example, errors in metadata, author names, institutional affiliations, tables or figures, or textual and informational errors that can be corrected without altering the core findings of the research.

2. Requesting a Correction

Authors, readers, or Editorial Board members may notify the journal of an error in a published article by providing relevant information or evidence.

The Editorial Board evaluates the case and determines whether a correction or another appropriate action is warranted, depending on the nature of the error and its impact on the scholarly record.

3. Article Retraction

An article may be retracted when reliable evidence indicates a serious issue that compromises the integrity or reliability of the scholarly record.

Grounds for retraction may include plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, major errors that significantly affect the results or conclusions, serious violations of publication ethics or research integrity, or duplicate publication in violation of accepted scholarly standards.

4. Retraction Procedures

When indications arise that a published article may require retraction, the Editorial Board reviews the case and relevant evidence and may request clarification from the authors or other relevant parties before making a decision.

Retraction decisions are based on the nature of the problem and its impact on the scholarly record, with due consideration for fairness, transparency, and scientific integrity.

5. Correction or Retraction Notices

When a correction or retraction is issued, the journal ensures that the notice is clear, linked to the original article, and adequately explains the nature and reason for the action.

Essential information about the article and its publication record remains accessible to preserve transparency, with the article’s status clearly indicated.

6. Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors are required to promptly notify the journal if they discover a significant error in their published work that may affect the accuracy of the results or conclusions, and to cooperate with the Editorial Board in evaluating the issue and taking appropriate action.

7. Integrity of the Scholarly Record

RSJ is committed to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of its published scholarly record and addresses corrections and retractions in accordance with recognized principles of publication ethics, scientific integrity, and internationally accepted academic practices.
